We’ve all done it – parked in the spot we just knew we’d remember and then walked out of the building with the ole, “uh oh, where is it?†Forgetting where your car is parked is not only frustrating, but is down right embarrassing as you’re circling the parking lot with that blank look on your face.
Most parking lots have some sort of system in place to prevent this from happening, so next time you park take a quick second to make note of the spot. We’re so busy rushing around everywhere that we usually hop out of the car and walk inside our destination without fully being aware of what we’re doing. Often, just taking the time to register where you parked is enough to lead you back to your spot.
Let’s say the row you parked in is labeled with a sign that says R|5. Take the first thing that pops into your mind for the letter “R.†For me, this is a rabbit. Now, take the first thing that pops into your mind for the number “5.†For me, this is hive because it rhymes.
Now, quickly form an association between the two: I see a white, cotton-tailed rabbit hopping into a giant hive. He pokes his head out and he’s covered in honey.
Alright, now go shop, eat, work or whatever you’re going to do. When you’re heading back out to the car, simply remember the rabbit hopping into the hive (5) and you’ll easily find your car.
Here’s one more for practice: 7|T
Right off the bat, 7 reminds me of heaven. The letter “T†reminds me of a teabag. Here’s my association: I look up at the heavens and to my surprise it is raining teabags. They’re even crashing down on my head.
The key to a good association is vivid, unusual movement. Make sure you really see the rabbit or the teabag, and try to incorporate an action like I did with hopping or raining.
Try this out and let me know how it worked for you.

I think there might be a little too much going on on the initial load of your blog. I see just the background for a couple seconds, until the page is finally up. But excellent info worth waiting for :o). Definitely ‘two thumbs up’.
