Dream interpretation shows us that even our scary dreams can have a deep-rooted positive meaning. From wonderful and exhilarating to frightening and chilling – a dream can mean many things. So, before you go making any big decisions based upon them, here are five common dreams and their meanings to help you sleep and dream sweetly.
The Falling Dream
We’ve all had this dream once or twice but, contrary to popular belief, if you don’t wake up before you “hit ground” you won’t die. Instead, this dream means that you are feeling unstable in a relationship, a financial situation or life in general. A “falling dream” can also indicate subconsciously that you are feeling over-whelmed and out of control.
Teeth Falling Out
Whether they all came crumbling out at once or slowly one by one, dreaming that your teeth have fallen out is incredibly common. This dream is all about perception – namely, how others perceive you. Your teeth represent your outward appearance, and losing them reveals that you may not feel as attractive and powerful as you once did.
Flying
If you’re like me, you love these dreams! Taking flight in a dream indicates a feeling of power over your current life or work. Maybe you’ve taken on a new project and things are going very smoothly. If your dream includes obstacles such as trees or power lines, then you’ve got hurdles you need to overcome such as a friend or co-worker standing in your way. Flying represents true freedom, so enjoy these dreams and congratulate yourself on your strong will.
Naked in a Public Place
This common dream can be both terrifying and humiliating. It signifies an inner feeling of shamefulness or vulnerability. Are you hiding a secret that you’re afraid everyone will find out? Do you feel like a fraud and at any moment the rug will be pulled out from underneath you? Your clothes give you confidence. They provide a physical wall to the outside and losing them in a dream can reveal your inner most insecurities.
Being Chased
Chasing dreams can signal a feeling of anxiety or fear. Often, running away is the first response, and this is highlighted by the dream. Whether you’re hiding from a boss, bill collector or your spouse, confronting the issue will put an end to the dream. Sometimes these dreams reveal a deeper conflict – you’re being chased by your own feelings of anger, resentment or jealousy. Take some time to reflect and use the dream as a wake-up call to challenge those thoughts.

I have had all of the above types of dreams, and frequently. I call my longer,, more involved dreams my “feature length, techniclolor” dreams.
Love that! “Feature length, technicolor.” Fun to say too.
Can’t say that I have had any of those specific dreams that I recollect. I remember my dreams very rarely. However, lately, oftentimes I will pose something to the universe before going to sleep, and I will receive divine wisdom in a dream which I do remember. Is happening more often these days. I think there is something to it! Can’t wait to learn how to dream lucidly. Fun!
Ahh Debbie, you are definitely on to something. I am a big believer in asking the universe (or the higher power of your choosing) for what I want – even if it is an answer. I do think that purposely asking is the best way to attract what we need. If you step into lucid dreaming, please let me know what you think of it. I’m quite curious.

Never had the teeth falling out of being naked in a public place dreams! Wow, only 3 out of 5 and I dream 5 to 10 times per night!
I’ve never dreamed that my teeth were falling out either. LOL I dream that I am unable to talk a lot, though. Not too fun!
